The Home Sweet Home Summit was a groundbreaking event dedicated to addressing the critical issue of housing affordability in the Central Okanagan. The summit brought together a diverse and committed group of stakeholders to explore innovative solutions to the housing crisis, focusing on expanding "Missing Middle Housing" options. The event aimed to foster meaningful collaborations and create actionable plans to make housing more accessible for everyone in the community.

The event objectives were as follows:
  • Break down barriers and activate connections to foster meaningful collaborations.
  • Strengthen ties between public and private sector contributors to address market housing solutions.
  • Ensure all stakeholders feel heard and have an opportunity to contribute to real solutions for affordable housing challenges.

As the Event Producer for the Home Sweet Home Summit, I oversaw every aspect of the event, ensuring smooth execution and achieving its objectives. This involved developing a detailed run of show and agenda, crafting a comprehensive plan with interactive and action-focused sessions designed to engage participants and drive meaningful discussions. By curating the agenda thoughtfully, I ensured seamless transitions and timely sessions, fostering a structured yet flexible environment conducive to collaboration.

I managed all logistics, from venue selection to room setup, decorations, and A/V requirements, creating an inviting atmosphere that promoted interaction and collaboration. On the day of the event, I oversaw the setup and decoration, ensuring all A/V equipment functioned smoothly. Implementing an unconference style format allowed participants to dynamically shape the agenda, leading to live engagement, fast ideation, and immediate actions. This approach ensured the summit was not just a discussion but a catalyst for real change, producing actionable outcomes participants were eager to implement.
